Current Openings
Service Lane Technician (Safety-Sensitive)
Citibus is seeking a Service Lane Technician to help keep our fleet clean, fueled, serviced, and ready for daily operation. This position is responsible for maintaining the appearance of Citibus vehicles and facilities while supporting the Maintenance Department with routine service tasks to ensure safe and reliable public transportation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of the eighth grade (high school diploma or GED preferred)
- Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 90 days of hire
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to safely perform physical work in an indoor and outdoor maintenance environment
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety, teamwork, and customer service
Primary Responsibilities
- Clean, wash, inspect, and maintain the interior and exterior of Citibus vehicles
- Fuel and service buses, including oil, water, and air conditioning systems
- Keep Citibus facilities and service areas clean and organized
- Complete vehicle defect reports and perform routine service lane inspections
- Remove and replace fare collection vaults
- Assist the Maintenance Department with daily operations, special events, and other assigned duties
Passenger Specialist (Bus & Van Operator)
If you enjoy driving, helping others, and serving your community, consider joining the Citibus team as a Passenger Specialist. Citibus offers full-time and part-time opportunities operating fixed-route buses throughout Lubbock and the Texas Tech University campus, as well as CitiAccess paratransit vans providing transportation for eligible passengers.
Compensation
- CDL Operators: Up to $18.00 per hour
- Non-CDL Operators: Up to $15.50 per hour (paid CDL training provided)
- Full-time and part-time opportunities available

Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain or maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) for bus operator positions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and criminal background check
- Commitment to operating vehicles safely and professionally
Primary Responsibilities
- Safely transport passengers on fixed-route buses or CitiAccess vans
- Provide courteous, dependable customer service
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Follow established routes, schedules, and safety procedures
- Assist passengers as needed, including those with disabilities
- Maintain compliance with all DOT and Citibus policies and procedures
